All you need to do is plug in a usb drive (hard disk or thumb drive, there are 2 USB ports available), or memory card (SD/SDHC/MMC) and have your media on it and the system will allow you to list/display/run whatever is stored on the card - you could even just grab the memory card out of your digital camera and plug intot he unti and see the photos/videos there (works well with my Canon camera with an SDHC card, so long as the memory card is compatible with the unit).
No complex config or setup of the system required, not extra software instal required - just plug in the powerr pack, attach to a TV or monitor/projector, turn on and there it is.
Ideal for simple folk who just want a portable easy to use device. Ideal for holdiay house/travel/caravan use where you want somthing simple that just works and is not too sensative and leave you stranded.
